Description

The Black Box KV0008A-R2 is a Freedom II series 8-port KM (keyboard/mouse) switch that allows a single user to control up to 8 computers using a single keyboard and mouse while sharing USB peripherals. Unlike traditional KVM switches, this unit does not switch video, allowing each computer to connect to its own monitor while sharing the keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices. The Glide & Switch feature enables cursor-based switching: simply move the mouse cursor off the edge of one monitor and onto another to instantly switch control. This provides an intuitive, seamless multi-computer experience similar to multi-monitor setups. The rear panel features eight USB Type-B computer ports, two USB HID console ports for keyboard and mouse, two USB 2.0 ports for shared peripherals, an RJ45 network configuration port, and dual locking power connectors. The unit supports true USB emulation and is ideal for financial trading desks, command and control centers, and any environment where operators need to interact with multiple computers simultaneously .
