The Black Box LMC212A-MM-R3 is a FlexPoint Gigabit Ethernet media converter that converts 1000Base-T copper signals to multimode fiber for extended network distances . This converter supports distances up to 550 meters over multimode fiber (depending on the SFP module used) and features SC fiber connectors. The unit can be used as a standalone converter with a universal AC power supply or mounted in the optional FlexPoint 5-Position Rackmounting Kit (LMC205) or 14-slot Power Chassis (LMC200). The FlexPoint system provides the ultimate in flexibility and reliability for expanding multimedia LANs, allowing you to start with standalone converters and later upgrade to a chassis-based system as your network grows . This converter is ideal for extending network connectivity across campus environments or between buildings.
