The Black Box LGC220A is a Gigabit Ethernet media converter that converts 1000Base-T copper signals to fiber optic media using a standard SFP transceiver slot. This flexible design allows you to choose the appropriate SFP module for your specific fiber type and distance requirements, supporting multimode fiber up to 550 meters or single-mode fiber up to 40 kilometers. The converter features auto-negotiation for speed and duplex, Auto MDI/MDI-X for crossover-free copper connections, and LED indicators for power, link, and activity. The LGC220A can be used as a standalone converter with a universal AC power supply or mounted in the optional FlexPoint 5-Position Rackmounting Kit or 14-slot Power Chassis. This converter is ideal for extending network connectivity across campus environments, connecting remote buildings, and providing fiber connectivity where copper cabling distance limitations are a constraint.
