The Black Box LGC011A-R2 is a MultiPower miniature Gigabit media converter that converts 1000Base-T copper signals to single-mode fiber for extended network distances up to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) . The converter features an SC fiber optic connector, operates at 1310nm wavelength, and supports 9/125µm single-mode fiber cable. The unit complies with IEEE 802.3, 802.3ab, 802.3u, and 802.3z networking standards, ensuring broad compatibility with existing network infrastructure. The compact design allows for standalone operation with a universal AC power supply (100-240 VAC) or installation in the MultiPower Power Tray for high-density deployments. Auto MDI/MDI-X eliminates the need for crossover cables, and LED indicators provide clear status of power, link, and activity. The LGC011A-R2 comes with a 2-Year Double Diamond Warranty and is ideal for campus and metropolitan area network extensions.
