Description
The Black Box ME800A-R4 is a 1-port Ethernet extender that allows you to extend Ethernet networks beyond the standard 328-foot (100-meter) limitation using existing copper wiring. This extender supports 10/100 Mbps Ethernet speeds and can achieve distances up to 4,000 feet (1.2 kilometers) at lower speeds. The auto-rate algorithm automatically determines the best possible baud rate for each connection and sets up the extender without user interface intervention. Simple DIP switches allow for master/slave configuration, and the low latency design makes this extender suitable for video and voice applications. The ME800A-R4 is ideal for extending network connectivity to remote buildings, security cameras, and industrial equipment where running new fiber or CATx cable is impractical.
