Description
The Black Box STD-C is a USB to serial converter that bridges the connectivity gap between modern USB-equipped computers and legacy serial devices still using RS232, RS422, or RS485 interfaces . This mini converter simply plugs into an available USB port on your computer or USB hub, and after installing the included drivers, the serial device appears as an additional COM port in the Windows Device Manager. The converter supports full handshake for RS232 (TD, RD, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, RI, GND) with baud rates up to 460 Kbps, while RS485 versions support baud rates up to 921 Kbps . The space-saving package (1.6H x 5.8W x 3.2D cm) is ideal for industrial automation, commercial applications, and any environment where legacy serial devices need to be connected to modern computers.
