IBM LTO-9 Tape Drive has increased flexibility in backup solutions with some of its main features. It offers more complex levels of interface modules such as: 12 Gbps SAS interfaces and 16 Gbps Fibre Channel interfaces that facilitate higher transfer rates and auto identifier level of adaptation to lower rates to guarantee interoperability of different data environments. Moreover, the LTO-9 may also be set up as a bootable device providing the advantage of flexibility with respect to system recovery and disaster recovery activities based on the host configuration. To further enhance continuous backup activities, there is the maintenance mode feature that comes with LTO-9 as it eases the process of diagnostics and maintenance to ensure that the system is kept optimal and always in backup mode.
