Description
The Black Box LMC4000A is a Micro Mini Gigabit media converter that converts 10/100/1000Base-T copper signals to fiber optic media. This ultra-compact converter weighs only 2.5 ounces and is about the length of a house key, making it ideal for fiber-to-the-laptop and mobile applications where light weight and compact size are critical. The converter supports distances up to 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) over single-mode fiber or up to 550 meters over multimode fiber, depending on the SFP module used. The LMC4000A can be powered in multiple ways: via the included AC power supply, through a computer’s USB port (drawing 0.5A at 5VDC), or using the optional wallmount bracket. The RJ-45 port auto-negotiates for speed, duplex mode, and crossover functions, supporting 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T Ethernet. This converter is ideal for field technicians, temporary network connections, and any application requiring portable fiber connectivity.
