Description

The Black Box MT660A-MM is a FlexPoint T1/E1 media converter that extends T1 and E1 communications over multimode fiber with an ST connector at 1300nm . This unmanaged converter supports distances up to 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and can be used as a standalone unit with a 9VDC, 1A power supply or mounted in optional rackmount accessories including the 5-position shelf or 14-slot power chassis . The converter supports AMI, B8ZS, and HDB3 line codes and provides protection from environmental noise and EMI/RFI interference that affects copper cabling. The MT660A-MM is ideal for connecting T1 or E1 PBXs, CSUs, or routers over fiber to increase network reliability and distance. The FlexPoint system allows you to start with standalone converters and later upgrade to a chassis-based system as your network grows .
