Description
The Black Box MT661A-SM is a FlexPoint series converter that extends T1/E1 communications over single-mode fiber cable, supporting distances up to 28 kilometers (17.4 miles) . This converter converts E1 2.048 Mbps copper signals to fiber, providing protection from environmental noise and EMI/RFI interference that affects copper cabling. The MT661A-SM can be used as a standalone converter or mounted in a chassis-based system for organized, scalable deployment. The ST connector version is also available as MT661A-SM-ST, while the MT663AE-SSC offers SC connector configuration . This converter is ideal for connecting T1 or E1 PBXs, CSUs, or routers over fiber to increase network reliability and distance. The FlexPoint system provides the flexibility to start with individual converters and later upgrade to a chassis-based system when your network grows, using accessories like the LMC205 5-slot rackmount tray or LMC200 14-slot power chassis.
